NYC

Oh my goodness I am exhausted after this weekend. New York City was amazing, and I foresee lots of trips in our future.
Our NYC weekend consisted of the following:
1. One night of drunken dancing at the Brooklyn Bowl
2. Countless coffee shop stops
3. Two frozen yogurt runs ( This was on my "Can't do at Ft. Drum" list)
4. A few mile walk along the High Line. I felt like I was living in a post from A Cup of Jo
5. A trip to Les Halles restaurant. They used to have a location in D.C where we went all the time. They have the most delicious steak.
6. So much catching up with great friends. I met up with a study abroad buddy, a childhood friend, and met lots of cool new people as well.

Wedding Link-Up: The Ceremony

We had the most incredible weekend in NYC. I will post about that later, but I wanted to continue with the wedding link-up. Today is all about the ceremony and I am linking up with schue love. Lane and I had almost completely agreement over the ceremony. We knew that we wanted it short, sweet and with words that meant a lot to both of us. We also didn't do a first look, so the first time he saw me was walking down the aisle

While we are on the topic of weddings. I saw this link on A Cup of Joe, and think everyone should read it. It made me grateful for my marriage all over again. It is about a couple and their wedding in the midst of terminal cancer.

Our ceremony was on an old golf course overlooking the lake. The weather was absolutely perfect. It rained on Friday, and I was terrified that it would rain again on Saturday. The weather came through though, and it was gorgeous.

Lane turned his back when my music started so that we wouldn't see me from far away. I had a 1.5 minute walk from where we were pre-ceremony.

My dad actually played the music while I walked down the aisle. My sister had to carry my veil because it can't touch the ground. The lace is so old that it will fall apart if it dragged on the grass.

NYC for the weekend

We are headed to NYC this weekend for a whirlwind of friend catching up. I haven't been in years, and can't wait to soak up the city. In all honesty, one of the things I am most excited for is frozen yogurt. Our little area isn't quite posh enough to have froyo, and I miss it like crazy. When I was still living in D.C, Red Mango was a few-times-a-week treat.

Today is our 6 month wedding anniversary, so all the weddings yesterday were perfectly timed. I loved looking at everyone's wedding pictures. There is something so wonderful about weddings. They are such a hopeful joyful time. I truly hope that everyone can maintain the love for their husbands that they felt on their wedding day. I am already seeing friends, who's weddings I attended, getting divorced and it breaks my heart.

I am so grateful and proud of my marriage. I understand that sometimes people are much happier and better off divorced, but I just remember the joy and absolute glee of their weddings. It makes me so sad how something so joyful could disappear.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I look forward to sharing all about our NYC adventures.

Wedding Link-Up

I completely missed the first few days of this link-up, but I am so excited to join today with pictures from before our ceremony. I am linking up with Valerie of Along the Way with V & J.

Y'all I wish that I could say that I was calm and serene on my wedding day. That would be a lie. We got married at my parent's lake house, which meant that a lot of the work fell to us. I was bustling around like a mad woman all morning. However, once it was time to take pictures I calmed down.

I am the 20th woman in my family to wear this veil. The first was in the mid 1800's.

Siblings

This is my family's dog Ralphie. He is the grumpiest dog I have ever met, but I love him to death.

We weren't so good at the whole serious photo thing.

My Bridesmaids. They were incredible the entire weekend and are the other loves of my life.
There might have been a little of this going on.

Damn he is handsome =)

I love our wedding pictures. Our photographer ( Lauren of I Love You Much Photography) was really great on the day of the wedding, and I felt super comfortable.

HG and Military Surprise Homecoming

Happy Hunger Games midnight showing day! It is so fun to see my sister freaking out about seeing it at midnight. I was her age when I went to see Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at midnight. I remember how grown up I felt and I love that she will have that same experience
Harry Potter
Lane showed me this video yesterday, and I had to share it here. A dad comes home from deployment to surprise his sons. It is the sweetest thing I have seen in a while. Break out the tissues.

This has been floating around Facebook, and it just makes my heart happy.

As promised... I just walked into a local pub (PUB 25, Newtown, CT) and asked to speak with the Owner/Manager. I asked if I could leave a cold one on the bar for Michael all day . I showed him the "Reserved" sign I made and explained I wanted to leave him sufficient funds to buy a random person a Guinness every hour today, and that when the surprised patron asks him "Who is this from?" he should reply: "It's from LT Michael P. Murphy." and point to the reserved sign. The Owner/Manager was so in tune with this small gesture, he refused my money, introduced me to two men working in the PUB who just returned home from Afghanistan and Iraq with the ASSURANCE that my request on Michael's behalf would be honored. God Bless America

To continue with The Hunger Games theme, here my song for Goodnight Moon's Thursday link-up. I have been listening through the soundtrack on YouTube, and I really like the other Taylor Swift song, "Eyes Open".

Birthday Boy

Happy Wednesday and a particularly Happy Wednesday to my husband. Today is also his birthday, and since I know he reads this; I am so excited to celebrate your birthday with you here in New York. I love you so much and  I love our life together.

I am linking up with Jaime at This Kind of Love for What I Am Loving Wednesday.

I'm Loving my husband and being able to celebrate his birthday today. No matter where we are, he makes it my home. I have loved him for almost nine years now, and am thrilled to be his wife.

This face is how excited he is about the above statement

I'm Loving this weather. Patios are my new best friend, and I can't wait to spend this weekend in New York City.

I'm Loving my new bright blue pants from the Gap. They are wonderfully comfortable and make me excited for bright spring colors.

I usually have a theme for my Wednesday Pinterest link-ups, but this week it just everything that is making me happy. I hope you find some images that make you smile, and celebrate all the wonderful things in life. I am linking up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple

I pray for world peace, the safety of kittens and that Rowling's new 'Adult Book' is secretly about "Harry Potter: the Grown-Up Years."

I feel an intense need for a chic black dress with a full skirt. Lane is totally down for dancing in public, but I doubt the Army will let him grow hair like that.

It would be incredible to take engagement pictures at the Louvre. I had such a good time with our engagement and wedding pictures, I may already be thinking about the next excuse to get dressed up and take pretty pictures.

Love + Houses

I completely forgot about the wedding themed linkups that are happening this and next week. I will be a late comer toward the end of the week. However, here is one of my favorite engagement pictures. We were lucky enough to work with Live it Out  Photography in Washington, D.C. I cannot recommend them enough, and anyone in the D.C area should check them out.

Ok, I lied. Here are a few more just because I love them so much.

So there is your daily dose of Lane and Molly love each other. I am in another week of Army Family Team Building. I loved level one, and I am hoping that level two will be equally worthwhile. I learned a lot about the Army, and it such a good way to make friends.

In more good news, we should be offered a house this week. We won't be able to move in for a few weeks, but it is such a great step in the right direction. Love and houses are on my mind this week, so here are some sweet ideas for our/ your place. All are from My Pinterest Page.
